Sans Titre (Untitled) (1930), by Maurice Tabard is a piece that I will emulate.

To emulate this photograph, first I did a quick sketch of the image, so I could work out the rough composition of the piece and also where the light and dark tones are.

This photograph would have been taken on black and white film, as during 1930 colour film was not yet popular. The reversal of the colours in the trees is due to solarisation. The image overlay is likely caused by double exposure of the film.I will use a digital camera to emulate this photograph, because although the original image was taken using film, I do not have the equipment or knowledge currently to create the same effect using film. After more experimentation and development of my skills I may attempt a double exposure or solarisation piece using film.To emulate this photograph I will take a photo of leafless trees, and, in a separate location, a photo of a male model posing similarly to the person in the photo. After taking the photos, I will use post processing to first solarise the image of the trees, and then overlay the two images on top of each other to create the double exposure effect. To take this photo I will need a location with trees (preferably with a plain background), a male model, a digital camera, and possibly a tripod.
